Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a custom setup I ran on the bed of my truck before committing to a bed rack, as it might be a useful option for someone looking for a clean, functional solution using factory bed rails.
In the video linked below, I’m running C2 2.0 Sport LED Pods from our team at Diode Dynamics. I originally purchased them in white with a red backlight, then swapped the clear lens to a yellow optic. This setup allows the red backlight to illuminate on its own, while the main beam projects yellow light when triggered, which works really well for rear visibility and awareness.
For optics, I went with the flood lens to disperse light broadly behind the vehicle. I also chose the Sport power level to keep costs down while still getting solid output. For this application, it strikes a good balance between performance and value without being overkill.

The most common question I get is what brackets I’m using to mount the pods to the factory bed rails. I’m actually using 2022+ Ford Maverick ditch light brackets.
The bolt pattern and alignment work extremely well for this application, and the powder-coated stainless construction keeps everything looking clean and professional.
I tried multiple generic L-brackets and hardware-store solutions before this, and none of them really nailed the fit or finish. This setup ended up being a true bolt-on solution with no modification or hassle.
For wiring, the pods are connected to the D-Switch, and I’m using one of the built-in flashing patterns to pulse the yellow main beam. That adds an extra layer of situational awareness when off-roading or when stopped on the trail.
