Fix for Tacoma Lane Tracking Assist Issue: Not a Fix I Recoomend But Certainly One That Works

Everyone knows what a hard shell is and how beneficial it can be, but if you don’t know what a SmartCap is you may just be missing out. I got lucky enough to find one of these on facebook marketplace for a good deal. The quality of these is truly amazing. The weather sealing (if done correctly) holds up very well. The pop up doors are my favorite when it comes to this hard shell. These doors even lock on the side. My only complaint is the rubber that sits on the locking mechanism can break off when cold. So far my experience with the Smartcap has been good but I’ll keep everyone updated on problems and future experiences!

Disclaimer: Just wanted to put it out there that this is a hilarious fix for an error, but hey, no knowledge is a waste I assume.

When I started using the lane tracing on my truck, this error kept popping up. It was sporadic sometimes, like several times in 5 minutes; sometimes, it wouldn’t come on for like half an hour.

Initially, I thought maybe my settings were messed up, but that wasn't the case. So basically, that error pops up because it is pressure sensed.

The fix is simple and more like a niche thing (I would not recommend doing). Just shove a water bottle in the bottom right section of your steering wheel, and that's it.

You see, this error comes up when both hands haven't been on the steering together for a while. So shoving a water bottle in the bottom right section tricks it into thinking there is a hand there. Guess you can call it self-driving.
