Upgrade 2007 to 2024

Just got my 2024 TRD Off Road a few weeks ago.

Still sad about my trusty 2007 with 308,000 miles before it hit a deer going 74 mph down the highway.
Trusty blue truck kept me safe and barely even slowed down blowing right thru the deer.

17 years old -- 308,000 miles and the insurance company gave me about $14,000 for the total.



I'll get use to the replacement



Leer Canopy on order and a few other changes already done.

That's awesome and sucks at the same time. Bummer to see the ol' dependable go but I bet you're stoked to be in something new. I have a 2013 and really don't want to let it go.

I really like it but it's a high bar over the long run as that 2007 was bullet proof. Just not deer proof.

Yeah time will tell. Did you get an extended warranty? I'm pretty sure that Toyota will continue the reliability they're known for. Even if there's a lot of people trying to say otherwise now.

Yes I did get the extended warranty.
I was torn about it as I usually pass on those (on other purchases) but I'd rather have it on the truck and never need it
Some of the parts and the repair costs for vehicles are sky high and I don't see that changing.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Newer trucks, costs are high, and I've seen some people get good rates. Mind me asking what you paid? And the term/coverage?

Probably got taken to the hoop but it was $2k for 84 months. I just got tired of talking about things and said OK lets do it.

I don't think that's too bad. Anything around there sounds relatively fair. I've heard a good range to be $1500-2000.
