I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are on going with the Falken Wildpeak AT4W 285/75/17 vs the 285/70/17. Either way, I’d be looking at getting the C rated tires and putting them on a +25 offset wheel. I’d love to see pictures of both as well as your riding experience with them! Also, I’ve been pretty set on the Falkens but I’ve been seeing more about the Toyo Open Country AT3s. What are your thoughts?

Falken makes really good tires. And they last. Not to say Toyo is bad, just have more experience with Falken. Plenty of happy people that run both. I would say you choose whatever tread design you like better.

Factory tires are essentially 33s on the TRD OR models, like yours. So doing a 285/70/17 won't be a crazy jump. Very minor rub, if any, especially with a +25. The 285/75/17 is a 34" tire. It will fill out the wheel well more and look better. Likely rub a little bit more, but you won't have to go crazy with trimming. Especially if you're mainly doing on-road driving. You usually see the most/worst rub when suspension fully cycles and wheel moves lock to lock. The C load will be just fine. I find many people usually wish they went a little larger, not really smaller. If it was me, I'd jump to the 34s and figure out the fitment. But I put 37s on, and looking at 38s/40s - a whole lot more cutting involved.

Hope that helps!

I believe my dad is running +25 wheels currently on his TRD OR, he loves the stance as do I, it looks clean, not too much poke, but a bit more aggressive. He is on 285/70/17 and really like it. I think he went with Falkens.

I'm running Toyo Open Country RTs 315/70/17 and I love the tire. I don't think you can go wrong with the Falkens either, I just love the tread pattern on the RTs. I would base it off of tread pattern as both tires are great. I think like @rustytaco said going to 34s is a safe choice with minimal rubbing but still will look aggressive and is a great tire for the trails.

Keep us updated what you run!
