One of the few issues I've had with my truck is their infotainment system. It's really not the best out there, and they can certainly do better. For instance, I did have to regularly reconnect my phone after starting my truck. It took me a while before finding a fix for it. So when you get into the truck after remote start, just push in and hold the volume knob for a second; the display will reboot and CarPlay will connect. It's way simpler than going into settings and faffing about and will become second nature for you. If you're also having this kind of trouble with your truck, you can try out this fix. Shouldn't be a hard one.

I must have a short in my one-dash pillar speaker when replacing the factory premium JBL speakers because I recently lost all sound inside my truck the other day. Music, tones, everything.

I don't know if it's safe to cut the factory harness off and direct wire to the new dash speaker. I guess what I'd do is retrace my steps. If I could, I'd probably figure out what I did wrong and check all my fuses.

Also, someone advised that I need to disconnect the battery before doing any electrical work next time, which I completely forgot about.
