How To Access Positive & Negative Terminals (Engine Bay) - Hybrid 4G Tacoma

Thought this might be helpful for those new to hybrids (like myself). If you didn't know already, the starter battery is under the rear seat in a hybrid Tacoma. Good news is, you don't have to remove clips and lift up your rear seat anytime you need access to the battery. In the engine bay, there are two dedicated terminals that are used for jumping the truck if the battery dies. This also applies to attaching something like an air compressor to power with alligator clips. This is ultimately what prompted me to figure this out. We finished off-roading last weekend, and I needed somewhere to hook up my MORRFlate compressor to air back up. Simply put, you need to get access to your passenger's side fuse box and a bracket that grounds out on the motor. Inside the fuse box, there is a terminal with a swiveling red cover on it. This is your positive terminal, essentially the same thing as connecting to the positive post on your starter battery. The negative can literally be anything in the engine bay that's grounded out, but the easiest place to connect your compressor or jumper cables is to a large metal bracket attached to the block (it secures a harness). Pictures for reference below... In the photo above, the red circle on the left is the fuse box, and the one on the right is the ground point. Close up above of the positive connection. The 2.25” collar and puck lift leveled the truck pretty well and fit the 35s with minimal trimming. I didn’t use the back puck yet but I’m sure I will when weight gets added to the rear. Anywho, rides nice off-road and was a simple install.
