Wiring Diode Dynamics SS3 to OEM switch

Quick question for those who have wired their Diode Dynamics SS3 ditch lights to the OEM switches. What did you have to do with the harness that Diode Dynamics sent so you could ground the lights to the ground wire in the switch? Am I correct in thinking that I shouldn’t have to make battery connections since the power is already provided through the switch? Also, I don’t need the relay Diode Dynamics provides do I? Thanks in advance.

Has anyone used this kit for their 4 gen Tacoma, I have the 2025 OR and would like to reduce the wind noise in the cab. This kit is made for my truck and I was wondering if anyone else has used this Kit.
