- 2024 SR5
Hey everyone,
When I originally purchased my 2024 SR5, it came equipped with the factory Toyota roof rack. While it’s a nice inclusion from the factory, the modularity and overall structural design didn’t quite meet my expectations, especially when it came to aftermarket compatibility.
Not long after buying the truck, I decided to remove the factory rack and upgrade to an RCI setup. There are a lot of solid roof rack options on the market, but the team at RCI really stood out to me. They’re genuinely great people, and if you’ve ever attended a show where they’re present, it’s hard not to support them.
Due to demand, the rack was on backorder initially, but it didn’t take long to be fulfilled. Everything is made in Colorado, and if you haven’t checked out their facility tour, it’s honestly worth watching. The level of detail and in-house production is impressive.
Assembly was straightforward once all the hardware was laid out, and everything lined up perfectly from initial assembly through final installation on the roof. One thing worth mentioning that isn’t shown in the video is adding a small amount of silicone to the roof mounting holes for extra protection against water intrusion.
Here’s a quick video showing the rack installed:
I’m looking forward to adding more accessories over time to really take advantage of the rack’s full potential, which you can start to see in the video.
If anyone has questions about the rack, install, or fitment, I’m more than happy to help.
