Rear Wheel Well Liners | Toyota Tacoma 2WD/4WD (2024)
Rear Wheel Well Liners | Toyota Tacoma 2WD/4WD (2024)
I really have an aversion to ripping apart a brand new vehicle but I really wanted the Rough Country rear wheel liners.
I also don't have a lot of experience doing aftermarket mods -- I think this is my first where your removing pieces of the truck and putting it back together.
OK so I dove in. I hated the stock liners where it was open to the shocks and assorted suspension parts.
Until they update the liners I think they only fit the Off Road model and other models with 2 bolts at the top.
I know I have seen some posts from people who own the SR and SR5 model and it was a no go for them.
First off:
- Great price and fast shipping
- Pretty good instructions and they send a lot of parts you may or may not need
- Liner is way tougher and provides a lot more coverage then the stock liner.
- They kinda gloss over Fender Flares in the instructions -- Do any of the off road models even come without fender flares?
The divers side took me about an hour and 1/2 and the passenger side about 1/2 hour.
The mistake I made on the drivers side was pulling out all plastic gromets from the stock liner when I only needed to pull out a few of them.
Live and learn but nice they send you a ton of them in the package,
Fit -- The items fit OK -- Perfect...... I'd have to say not really. Good Enough yes. and it looks perfect from the outside.
Perhaps this is due to Toyota build quality. While I really like my 2024 .... .my 2007 was built way tighter and tougher.
Mud flaps --
I will have to find something to fill in a ledge at the top of them -- This is NOT due to these lines the stock liners had the same issue.
There is a ledge that collects stuff -- Who designed this?
Would I do the project again. Yes I am happy with the end results.
