Tailgate Theft Protector for 4th Gen Tacoma

I had just seen online how many people’s tailgates are getting stolen, and right after that Cali Raised posted this on their Instagram. Seems like good timing. It’s a stainless plate that bolts into the hinge side with security hardware so the tailgate can’t just be lifted off. The install looks straightforward since it reuses the factory holes, probably a five-minute job start to finish.

For twenty bucks it feels like cheap insurance. Not saying it’s going to stop someone with power tools, but it should at least make the casual grab-and-go theft a lot harder. I’m going to order one now and I’ll let y'all know how it goes once it shows up.
