Unpleasant Coolant Odor & Noise In Tacoma: Dealer Check Scheduled For Monday

Yesterday while driving, we smelled a coolant leak in our Tacoma. We're still under warranty, and we've reached out to our dealer already.

They booked us for Monday, so we'll be heading there Monday morning. There are no visible leaks or puddles, but we did start hearing a slight random pulley chirp, and the smell is quite unpleasant.

Would certainly drop am update on this issue. Just hope the fix won't be one that would require them to hold on to the truck for a long time.

I have a coolant smell too. Been to 2 different dealers and they can’t find a leak. They told me it’s a new turbo motor and they have different smells. I smell it all the time on the passenger side by the air box and radiator. Did you ever find where it was leaking from.

Hmm. The first time I'm seeing something like this. Keep us posted! I've had my truck for a year now, 16k miles. Never noticed any weird smells or leaks.

A few early in production had heater core leaks, look for moisture around the floor vents.
