So I’ve had my new Tacoma for about 4 months now and have driven over 10K miles with it. I thought it would be a great time to share my 5 Likes and 5 Dislikes with you all. I also did an in depth video on this topic over on my YouTube which I will link below.LIKES
1. Improved Powertrain: This new 2.4L turbo with the 8 speeds trans is a pleasure to drive. I’ve had 2 3rd Gen Tacomas in the past, and this powertrain is far superior I feel with power and drivability.
2. Better Driving Position: This is a night and day difference over the outgoing truck. You don’t feel like you are sitting on the floor anymore.
3. Technology: From the massive 14” screen, digital dash, usbc fast charging, and more. This new Tacoma evolves on existing tech from last gen and improves on it while still leaving physical buttons were wanted.
4. Aftermarket Support: 3rd party companies go CRAZY with Toyotas and this truck is no different. 5 months on the market essentially and you can build out a full truck the moment you drive it off the lot.
5. Looks: Still looks like a Tacoma but with some more balls imo.
DISLIKES
1. Rear Seat Space: Still small. It’s a midsized truck but I wish Toyota made the cab just slightly bigger.
2. Too Much Plastic: My TRD Off-Road Premium was $$$ and there is too much plastic inside.
3. Poor Paint Quality: My truck is the Underground color. It looks amazing, but unfortunately it came insanely swirled and scratched by either the shipping company or dealer. I’m not the first to have this issue with this color.
4. Rear Exhaust: Hangs wayyyyyyy too low…
5. Small Tank: A 18.2 gal tank is ok when your Tacoma is stock. But once you modify it and the MPG drops, it stinks! Way too small imo. I wish they left the 21 gal.
