Fourth of July afternoon, I was taking my babies to a local swimming hole to go swimming. We parked in the parking lot which is about a 3 foot drop from the main road.
We were parked in one of the spots that’s parallel to the main road… I was standing on the driver side of the truck blowing up a floaty while my daughter was putting on sunscreen next to me. My son was sitting in the back seat of the truck putting his water shoes on.
Next thing I know I hear a sound like a rocket or a bomb going off and I watch a van plow through the back of my truck coming inches from my babies.
By far the absolute most terrifying experience that I would never put on my worst enemies. at the end of the day, everybody is going to be OK and that’s what matters… If you pray, please send some prayers to my babies because obviously they’re having a hard time with how close everything was.. Getting knocked down on the ground. I felt like I was in one of those dreams where I couldn’t run or get up as I frantically searched for my kids.
I’m gonna safely assume the Tacoma is totaled, but I’m hoping the insurance doesn’t try to jack me around with anything. Also, the police and first responders were absolutely wonderful.
