Just got my 74Weld upper control arms in hand for my 2025 TRD Pro, and I wanted to share some initial impressions before I get them installed.
First impression is that these things look extremely well made. The machining, finish, and overall attention to detail stand out right away. Everything about them feels like high-end quality, and they definitely give off the impression that a lot of thought went into the design rather than just putting together another aftermarket UCA. It's dope that they're a CNC'd piece. All of thee parts caught the eyes of everyone in the shop.
One of the biggest pro's about these? Fully adjustable without having to remove them.
In the pic below, I had the shop owner hold them next to an Icon UCA. Look at the angle of the UCA leading to their ball joint, and look at 74's.
You can tell they put a lot of thought into this. The pic is a little blurry but you can get the gist of it...
Icon has more of a straightt line angle coming off of theirs, whereas 74's are slightly concaved.
Why's this important you might ask?
Well if you're running larger tires or different offset wheels, your tire hitting the UCA is a big concern as that limits your steering, and will obviously cause damage to the vehicle. 74's give that slight angle which will allow for JUST enough more space down there when turning. The thought that went into each of their new pieces is pretty insane.
Out of the box, the build quality looks excellent. The arms feel stout without looking overly bulky, and the hardware and components all appear to be top shelf. In person, they look even better than they do in photos.
What really stood out to me right away was how purpose-built they seem for a serious suspension setup. The design looks like it was made with strength, articulation, and geometry correction in mind, especially for anyone planning to run a lift and actually use the truck off-road.
Obviously, I can’t comment on ride quality, alignment, or real-world performance yet since they’re not installed, but based on first impressions alone, I’m impressed. They definitely feel like a premium piece.
If anyone else is running these on a 4th gen Tacoma, I’d still love to hear your thoughts.
