Got my HAM antenna mount installed. was pretty easy too.

I think I will get some plastic wire loom and wrap the exposed part with that, then wrap it in electrical tape, to help prevent sun exposure/premature wear on the cable.

Runs under the plastic, for the rear seat kick plate, above the carpet... didn't feel like ripping the carpet up to run a cable. Cable is hidden/protected by the LASFIT rear floor mat.

Also, Used HOT glue to seal the hole/rip in the grommet.

Nice! I was going to install a HAM radio but owners manual says not to because it could cause interference. I don't know what it would interfere with but I'm waiting until vehicle is out of warranty before I install. Do you have any pics of the radio install?

Not yet, still checking out my options, which I have narrowed down to an Anytone AT-D578UVIII Plus (50w). Though, I should say I haven't had any issues with my 7w handheld using in/around the truck. If there were going to be interference issues, I would think all those crazy HAM folks in their Priuses would have exhibited some issues with their 50watt ++ setups., given similar setup.

Well, got my new mobile radio... Installed the power cable, but that's where I stopped and forgot to snag pics.

What I can mention is there are 3x pop clips that hold the seat down, over the hybrid battery... 12v battery is under read driver side seat, folds up as one piece due to a piece of fabric connected to both sides of the seat.

Power cable is also routed under the plastic kick panel under the lasfit floor mat to the front passenger side (along the center console... Need to double-check that the power cables wont get pinched by the power seat mechanism/rails.

Now the fun of determining how to mount, if not on the faux molle panel/oh-crap handle.

Here's my temporary solution... seems pretty solid.

Spare foam wrap, to protect the plastic handle/interior and some Rip Tie velcro ties. This thing doesn't hardly move. Where, I might add some extra padding on bottom side of radio, to help keep in place when going over bumps and give more angle.

Removable, without ruining interior panels.

Only a rubber grommet was harmed during the installation of this radio.
