Just installed an RCI 1/4” raw aluminum skid plate: https://tinyurl.com/m5hzxupv

This was after having to install the front frame cross member from NYTOP, since my SR5 didn’t come with one, for the front mounting points: https://tinyurl.com/rd3z8sdd

Install was straightforward, and it looks amazing. While this truck is not meant for off-roading at the moment, the skid plate will provide much better protection than that flimsy fabric composite splash guard.

Man, the skid plate looks kinda small when looking at it from the front. Looks like it should span the width of the lower valance section at least. A little protection is better than no protection but I wonder why they didn't design it to be a little wider up front.

I don’t mind, it’s not for looks (other than wanting the aluminum to match the color of the truck), and provides more than adequate protection. Plus, trying to keep any added weight to a minimum.

Copy that, yeah, I'm sure it will do the job. It just looks like there's room for more coverage up front.

Yeah, I see what you’re talking about. Honestly, there weren’t many on the market when I ordered this one and I didn’t want to wait either. Just wanted to get something better than that pizza box.

The plan is to ship this one down to Haiti, whereby we’ll beef it up with something like the one Victory has: https://tinyurl.com/58nz4drv

Along with some other mods. But for now, driving the paved roads of South Florida this one will suffice.
