Rear Door Mounting Brackets

I got my hands on a Tacoma Pre Runner while I was in California for a week. Guys, this little truck is awesome. It felt so spunky, super comfortable on the roads, and got up to speed quick while staying decently quiet on the highway. My only gripe about this vehicle, is the fact that the back doors or lack there of, didn’t open. This is solely a 2 door truck, so putting items behind the seat was a bit tricky at times. The storage was pretty tricky though. I would love to own one of these if they weren’t so hard to find in the South. Check out my review here:

In my 2025 DC, I have Sony ES 6 1/2" coaxials to mount in the rear doors. Aftermarket company Metra brackets are too thick at 7/8". Does anyone know of a shallower depth of mounting plate?

Crutchfield only sells Metra and their advice, since our 4Gs are still basically new, is to search for a shallower bracket. Depth of the speaker is fine, no issues. However, due to the thickness of the mounting bracket, the door panel will have a bulge in it when reassembled.
