Tacoma Tailgate Troubles: No Manual Lever?

It's neat having five ways to open your tailgate, but then you find out there's no manual lever, haha. I'll try disconnecting the battery tomorrow; first oil change is due soon anyway. Still, it's a pretty silly issue. Anyone else dealing with tailgate troubles? It's really bumming out my weekend vibes.

Installed these today, blacked out goes with the black mirror covers and sequential LED.

I had this on my '23 4Runner and removed them prior to turning it in on a lease for my '24 Tacoma. The mirrors look identical and I'm curious if the ones I had for the 4Runner will work for the Tacoma?
