Tacoma
2025, trd off-road, Tacoma
How’s it going guys? I just recently purchased an MT trd off-road and was lucky enough to get all the options I wanted except for the new stabilizer disconnect. I was told from the dealership that I could find some aftermarket ones, but have done some digging and haven’t found anything yet. Was wondering if you guys have found anything online. Also, tell me your opinion and thoughts on the system!

My came with it and I rarely use it. I heard it’s useful.

I think it's going to be pretty unlikely that someone makes this in the aftermarket. A relatively more complex system. Might not be worth the price/effort. Personally, I just take the sway bars off. Good suspension helps. Looking for maximum flex and the least resistance to it. It's not terrible on the road if you have it set up correctly. Yes, of course, there is more body lean. But I've taken some turns faster than most people could imagine with and without. Or an aggressive maneuver on the highway to avoid an accident. Just depends on your comfort level. Also important to note that what the Tacoma can do is pretty impressive, even in stock form. So most people might not even need to mess with the sway bar system too much if they don't plan on pushing it harder at some point. And again, I would just take them off if you're really going to push it.

What setup are you running to help prevent the sway of the vehicle without the sway bar? Also are you saying take both stabilizer bars off front and rear?

I don't run anything. And yes, front and rear.

But if you're asking about what I would recommend to support it, a solid set of 2.5 coilovers and shocks, with adjustable reservoirs. Those let you increase or decrease the compression settings. Keeping them slightly firmer helps to offset the body roll a bit. But it's not like a be all end all thing. Definitely nice to have.

Also, if you really want the rear end to flex, you'll want some good springs, upper and lower rear links, and a new panhard bar. For the front, a solid set of aftermarket uppers and lowers will help a lot as well.

The 4G Tacoma has some pretty incredible suspension design for a Tacoma, at least as compared to previous generations. It has a lot of potential for great wheel travel, which is key.
