Sharing my new setup that I've been running for a few months! I think every vehicle needs a set of rock sliders if they go off-road, or even just driving around the city! They protect you from damaging the body panels and messing up anything on the vehicle. The sliders mount directly to the frame and sit high enough to provide real protection on the trail. If you’re planning to do any serious off-roading, this is a major upgrade over factory steps or running boards that can easily bend. These follow the Tacoma’s body lines well and give the truck a more aggressive, trail-ready look. They stick out just enough to function as a step without looking bulky. One of the biggest advantages of the Step Edition is the integrated top supports (you can get filler plates if you do not want the gaps). Traditional rock sliders can be a bit awkward as a step, but the flat tread plate makes getting in and out of the Tacoma much easier, especially for passengers. They also add a bit of traction when the sliders are wet or muddy. And help to block flying rocks and stuff from the road. I added the optional kickout. The sliders are built from heavy-duty steel and finished with a durable powder coat. They feel extremely solid once mounted and give you confidence that the truck’s rocker panels are protected. The welds and construction are clean, and the overall design looks great on the truck. If you want the durability of rock sliders but still need a practical step for daily driving, this step edition is a great middle ground. I recently have been experiencing a CarPlay disconnect while driving the truck for no reason. At first I thought it was because I lost my cell signal and would just manually navigate to the Bluetooth Devices settings and manually turn the Apple CarPlay on. My iPhone is still connected to the truck, but the Apple CarPlay button moves to the off position on its own. I have an Apple 15Pro iPhone. I called the dealership and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the Toyota app on my phone. I did so, but the disconnect still occurs from time to time. I have checked and my iPhone has the latest software updates installed. I thought it might be because I was on the move between towers but I have had it happen to me while I am stationary waiting in a parking lot to pick someone up. Any thoughts?
