A couple of weeks back, I installed new OME leaf springs with a lift kit on my vehicle. Soon after, I noticed a persistent, loud squeaking noise, which I initially thought came from the springs themselves. After some investigation, I discovered the noise is actually coming from the shackle bolts, which are inserted into the frame’s hangers.

I suspect these bolts might be installed incorrectly, possibly backward. Can anyone verify this before I head back to the shop?

I’d like to sound somewhat knowledgeable when I bring it up.If the bolts are indeed backward, is there a specific reason for installing them this way? I’m not sure if simply reversing them is feasible. Would shorter bolts be a better solution?

Also, I’m a bit concerned about rust forming where the bolt tips have scraped against the hanger. If this is a mistake, it makes me wonder what else might have been done wrong during the install.

P.S: The first picture is the passenger side, while the second picture is the driver side.
