What are the main advantages and disadvantages of the new Tacoma compared to its competitors?

I have the 3rd Gen now, I went from a 2nd Gen and there was a stark difference in technology. Has anyone gone from a 3rd Gen to a 4th Gen and noticed something like that? Is there big differences or is it just updated tech from the 3rd Gen?
