Aftermarket Aluminum Skid Plate From Amazon - Half The Cost Of OEM!

Looked at Tacoma skid plate from Toyota and the cost and color turned me off. Bought an aftermarket on Amazon for half the cost, bedazzled it and slapped that baby on in 40 minutes start to finish. Only difference between the two are the TRD impression isn’t in the aftermarket, which worked out beautifully.

What sort of paint did you use?

Started with a couple bumper/trim spray cans in matte and satin but they were too glossy, ended up using Krylon Fusion 5x Matte black. Have seen several videos and posts of spray bed liner being used, but the finish was rough and wouldn’t have worked for me.I’ve had no issues with water or road debris….. it probably has 12 coats from primer to finish coat . We’ll see what happens this winter.
