Blow Off Valve Upgrade? Is It Even Necessary?

Hey 4G Taco, I wanted to share an update on a project I’ve been slowly bringing to life with my 2024 Tacoma TRD OR. For years, I’ve wanted to build a short-bed camper setup, but I kept getting sidetracked with different rigs. As soon as I picked up this truck, I committed to the vision. It all started with the SmartCap Evo-A — I knew from day one that I wanted something modular, functional, and clean. A setup that works just as well day-to-day as it does when I’m out camping or riding. Our future platforms will be CNC and will fit perfectly out of the box - still working through those details, so stay tuned. I’m a full-time content creator and nomad, so the truck needed to do more than just camp. It had to support real use. What started as a simple idea has turned into a four-part build series on my YouTube channel, and the response has been bigger than I expected. The interest has grown to the point where this project is now turning into a business. Alongside the platform, we’re also developing a bed-extension tent so the full space can be used while camping. That prototype should be completed in the next 30 days, and I’ll be sharing updates as it comes together. Picked up the Smartcap Evo A and it was LOVE at first sight - a dream 5 years in the making since my first 2019 Tacoma! My Rig from Back Then - Circa 2022 Before the buildout started - I picked up this DAC INC tent, it looks kind of janky but works well to enclose the backend of the truck to ensure all space is useable Topper Tent is another one - their design is much different. My buddy getting all of the angles - our system is a pressure kit and conforms to the contours of the bed - nothing is permanent After day 1 we had our initial design - its simple and that was the goal We stained and cut the trap door so that all space behind the half drawer can be used - I imagine I will keep my clothes and other random essentials in the space while out using the truck We purchased some marine carpet on amazon, which was a huge mistake, ended up buying some a rubber runner from menards, worked perfectly. Its grippy and will hold my stuff from moving around while not using the platform and will hold my air pad in place! it was a win win. AND for the first placement in the rig - love at first sight Heres the final version - Stoked on it!

So to my knowledge, the new turbo motors have a blow off valve (BOV). Correct me if I'm wrong. I think the only design alternative is a bypass valve (BPV). Just something I learned while doing some research.

Has anyone seen any upgrades for the 4th Gen? Is it even necessary, or possible, etc.? I can't see why the motor wouldn't benefit, given the reported positive impacts that I've heard it brings. I just haven't seen anyone say anything, but I understand since the motors are newer.
