Finally removed the air dam and more mods

I finally got around to removing the air dam - I’m averaging 24mpg, so wanted to see how much the mpgs are really affected. Upon doing so, I noticed how crappy the felt/composite “skid plate” is and decided it was best to get a metal one.

Also made a quick trip to the dealership to pick up (8) plugs (part # 90950-A1021) for the holes on the lower control arms to quiet the howling noise.

My truck is mainly driven to work and back (64 miles round trip), on highways and toll roads, but I do encounter a lot of road debris. And living in the hurricane zone, it’s only a matter of time before I’ll need to transverse a high water road with hidden obstacles.

I opted for the 1/4” raw aluminum skid plate from RCI: https://tinyurl.com/2bf7md9w

I also had previously purchased the front cross bar that the non TRD trims have for attachment of skid plates from NYTOP: https://tinyurl.com/rd3z8sdd Something similar is available at RCI as well.

Once the skid plate arrives, I’ll be removing the felt liner and installing the plate - photos coming soon.

I think removing the air dam is priority number one, lol. It makes the front end look terrible... Looking forward to seeing some pics.
