So Ian’s some 16” TRD Baja wheels from my 3gt and decided to try and fit them on my 4gt before I got new 17’s and 37’s. After a quick attempt to test fit I saw there was going to be a lot needed to get these to fit. Was it worth it, nah not really but I wanted to try. First off the front calipers are much bigger up front compared to 3gt and older gen Toyotas so the tapered barrel of the TRD Baja wheels hit the caliper before I could even seat the wheels on the hub. I decided that since there was so much messy casting on the calipers I’d just grind it off. After grinding quite a bit of cast marks off I decided that was far enough into the caliper I didn’t want to damage the integrity since there’s lotta pressure going thru them. The wheels allllmost fit but the taper was too drastic that I ended up having to install some 1.5” spacers on which made them clear by a few mm’s. And since they poked so far out at that point I had to do a decent bit of trimming at front and back of the wheel well/arch. Was fun for awhile but I recently swapped them out to my current setup of 17’s and 37’s hope this helped a few of you hoping to install 16’s.
