This is the first Tacoma to come with coil spring rear suspension on higher trims like TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and Limited — and the difference is noticeable.

On pavement, the ride is smoother and less bouncy compared to older leaf spring setups. It soaks up bumps better and feels more controlled when cornering. Off-road, articulation seems better, especially on uneven surfaces.

That said, if you’re loading it up or towing, how’s it holding up? Anyone notice sag with gear or trailers? Thinking about airbags or helper springs down the road?

Let’s compare notes: coil vs. leaf, comfort vs. capability, and any early upgrades you’ve done.

Coil springs / 4 link ride great but they definitely sag out a bit when loaded, I grabbed the eibach 1 inch lift rear spring to help and should have that installed next week.

When I hook my trailers up it sags the rear out big time so that was the main reason I grabbed the rear coils springs. I don’t plan to load my truck up with overlanding gear so it should be sitting right soon.

I’ll keep you posted and try to grab a pic of my truck with a trailer hooked up for before and after.
