2024 TRD Off Road
Hi there. Nothing came up with a search… I’m wondering if anyone here has put the OEM rock rails on a long bed 2024 Tacoma and if they’d be willing to share pix. Mine came with the predator steps and I am not feelin it!

I know there are some slider threads… I’m open to any feedback/input. Many thanks to all and happy trails.

Do you plan on wheeling or building the truck at all? I would recommend a dedicated set of sliders if so. They make a bunch of different variants. From high clearance angled ones, to others that are more flat and also act like a step.

Thanks for the note. I’m going stock+ with it. It’s a TRD off road. So far I have a Decked midsize drawer system in the long bed and a LEER 180 mid height cap. Makes for a lean and mean minimalist camper. Snail armor tailgate panel (so sick! Absolutely LOVE it!). Bed stiffeners, some minor lighting upgrades. UpTop overland rack. Rear view camera and bed camera relocation. Some heavy duty rear seat covers (NW Seat Covers Atomic model-very very happy with them). Straightforward tire upgrade (BFG KO3 285/70, r17) on stock rims. LasFit floor mats. I think that’s about it. I don’t plan to lift it or make any significant alterations.

I do intend to get rid of the predator steps that came on the truck. My wife is short and we thought it might be kind of helpful, but they are just in the way as far as intended use goes, and I’ve had them hang up/grind a bit a couple of times on trail trips already. I just am not a fan.

I like the minimalist look of the Toyota OEM rock rails, but I haven’t seen how they look on a long bed TRD OR.

Also intend to invest in some protection underneath, but haven’t yet been able to decide on aluminum or steel and how extensive I want to cover. I’m not hardcore and weight and cost are concerns.

Future: maybe a front bumper and winch, but I won’t do it until I have a significant and somewhat lengthy trip on the books. I’m liking the C4 Fab low-pro bumper for that, but there are obviously a number of sweet options out there.

If anyone has pix of the Toyota Rock Rails on a long bed I’d love a look! I.e. right side is Toyota Genuine #PT738-35245

Thanks!

Post some pics!

I would get a set of aluminum skids in your situation. I have a steel set from Cali Raised, but they also offer them in aluminum. It's a solid upgrade but really keeps the weight down. They offer the skids individually, or as packages.
