So... sounds easy enough. Lift the bottom portion of the rear seats and they should lift right up - like in the 3G Tacoma. That may be true, but only for the non-hybrid 4Gs. They don't have an extra step to lift up the bottom of the back seat. The upper portion (seat back) is the same, but not the bottom.

If you were curious like me, or need to do an install (also like me, I was adding seat covers), then here is a simple guide to raising the bottom portion off the plastics. It's actually really simple.

There are three retainer clips that hold them down to the vertical portion of the trim behind where your feet would go. You just need to lightly pry them up with a skinny flathead screwdriver, pull them out, and the seats will come up. Drop the seats and pop them back in when you're done. Just don't compress the inner portion until the clip is back inside the seat.

This is also good if you're looking to access the hybrid battery, or your starter battery, both of which are underneath in the I-Force Max models.

I've attached some photos for reference!

Out of curiosity, were your two rear seats attached together, with that piece of fabric? Mine are.

Yeah, the one seen dangling in the last picture. Seems to be a debris guard so stuff doesn't fall into the cavity. Couple pieces of Velcro loosely attaching it to the bottom.

Thanks, I will double-check mine... seemed to be hard-attached on mine.

One part of it was sewed to the bottom of the seat, I think it was the 60 portion. The other part was attached via Velcro. So not entirely loose. I added some PRP seat covers and had to tuck it all underneath them.
