Thought I would share one of the steps I'm taking to make sure I do my front bumper install perfectly.

For reference, I'm running a C4 hybrid. With the hybrid tube sides, you can see the body panels that would normally be covered. Now, this might not be a huge deal for everyone, but it can be an eyesore. Especially if you have brighter colors like white or red. The C4 bumper comes with a washer tank fluid reservoir skid, but you can still see the white semi-transparent container with blue fluid inside.

So... before I put everything together for the last time, I got what's basically a steel wool sponge and scuffed up all the areas I wanted to paint really well. The softer sponge helps get into all the grooves better. I'm hoping this will lead to less chipping and that it lasts longer. I did as much as I could that I thought would be visible after it was all put together.

Anyway, check out some shots below...

Above, you can see the matte texture with all the scratches. Hit it with a degreaser, and it was ready for paint.

Above you can see the biggest eyesore, the fluid reservoir. I think it came out pretty good.
