Out of everything I’ve added to my bed setup so far, the Backwoods Overland Bed Rack Storage Box has probably been one of the most useful mods day-to-day. I have been running the Backwoods Adventure Mods Bed Rack, Roof Rack and DRFTR Topper. This has easily been my favorite mod on my truck. One main downside I encountered on the 4G Tacoma is the lack of storage for some of my items I like to carry with me every trip on the trails, especially in the TRD Pro with the Isodynamic Seats. It bolts directly onto the Bedrock system from Backwoods, keeping installation simple and seamless. One standout feature is the MOLLE panel on the door, which still allows you to mount gear on the bed rack while benefiting from fully lockable storage. The box is also sealed with rubber gaskets, so it does an excellent job keeping out water and dust. Installation took me less than an hour by myself, and with a second set of hands, it would be even quicker. The depth of the storage is surprisingly generous, you can fit a lot more than you’d expect. Even with the box installed, you still retain most of your truck bed’s functionality, which is a huge plus. Right away, you can tell that everything Backwoods produces is high quality, from the organization and hardware to the welds. It’s honestly impressive how they manage to keep everything so durable while staying lightweight. I’ve been able to store quite a bit inside, including my air compressor, soft shackles, tool bag, med kit, and more. Not having to drop the tailgate or climb into the bed just to grab something is a game changer, especially when you’re on the trail or fully loaded up. Everything you might need is right there, ready to go. Another great feature is the adjustable shelving. You can remove or reposition the shelves to fit your setup exactly how you want. It also uses three gas struts, which makes opening and closing the box smooth and effortless. This is easily my favorite mod I’ve done to the truck, and I think a lot of people would benefit from adding one. If you need even more storage, you can install a second box on the opposite side. I can’t recommend Backwoods enough, their quality is top-tier, and every product I’ve added to my truck has exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a bed rack setup with added storage, definitely check them out. And if you’re already running their system, the storage box is an absolute must-have, hands down one of the most underrated and useful upgrades I’ve made.

Thought I would share one of the steps I'm taking to make sure I do my front bumper install perfectly.

For reference, I'm running a C4 hybrid. With the hybrid tube sides, you can see the body panels that would normally be covered. Now, this might not be a huge deal for everyone, but it can be an eyesore. Especially if you have brighter colors like white or red. The C4 bumper comes with a washer tank fluid reservoir skid, but you can still see the white semi-transparent container with blue fluid inside.

So... before I put everything together for the last time, I got what's basically a steel wool sponge and scuffed up all the areas I wanted to paint really well. The softer sponge helps get into all the grooves better. I'm hoping this will lead to less chipping and that it lasts longer. I did as much as I could that I thought would be visible after it was all put together.
