Don't know if anyone is happy about the new CarPlay update that has a cool, clear "glass" look, which you can try in the iOS 26 beta program. The fresh look is great, and iOS 26 brings a dark mode to CarPlay that makes night drives less hard on your eyes. I always got a bothersome prompt for the Toyota app when I plugged in, but I fixed it by simply turning off Face ID for the app in my iPhone settings, the annoying pop-up went away, and my CarPlay has been perfect since. If you have the same CarPlay trouble with your Tacoma, change the Face ID settings and you'd be good to go.

I previously had an odd problem with my car's radio tuner as it made no sound, so I want to share how I fixed it if you face this too.

So the tuner was all quiet, but XM, Bluetooth, and phone parts worked fine. I saw a weird sign next to the Bluetooth icon, but did not know what it meant.

After trying some things, I found an easy fix: press and keep the volume knob down to turn the unit off, then turn it on again. This quick reset made the tuner work right away.

I'm sharing this tip to save you from a tough time, since even the car shop couldn't fix it. Hope this helps if your radio has this strange problem too!
