On April 8th, I have an appointment with my local tuner to flash the OTT Tune onto my 6th Gen 4Runner (and 5th Gen to show ol' girl some love), and maybe my Tacoma TRD Pro. I was sending him emails back and forth and I am very excited to get it done and see how it is for both vehicles and maybe my 4th Gen Tacoma as well. I am hesitant about the Tacoma becuase it is a lease and it is a hybrid. But their numbers and reputation with the last-generation trucks are promising. The new 4Runner already drives so much better than the 5th and I assume with this new tune it will be even better with the added horsepower and torque. The nice thing about this tune is that it can easily be removed from the vehicle if needed, without leaving a trace on the ECU. Here is a chart he provided me to show their proven dyno numbers both non-hybrid and hybrid models. Anything I should be cautious about?

I'm planning on getting tuned and pairing it with Burger JB4. I think that combo gives you the most reach, insight, and control of as many of the factors and variables as possible.
I'm also up for all the fun things to add power; add a intercooler, a downpipe - if someone makes one, getting a better turbo (maybe a GT30R?), all the fun bolt-ons to see what kind of fun I can have and what kind of torque I can produce.

Would love to see Real-World, MPG #'s post flashing... Also, wondering how this affects the warranty?
I just spoke with my dealership's service manager last week about this very concern. First off, he said Toyota would most likely not be offering a performance tunes anytime in the future for our trucks. Secondly, going with a tune itself will not void warranty, however if you say burnup a turbo from running it in an over-boost situation due to the tune, then yeah, Toyota will not cover the cost to replace. In essence, the root cause of the failure has to be proven to relate directly to the tune otherwise, it's covered under warranty.

Lastly, my Service Manager said he was very familiar with OTT and has worked on trucks they've runed in the past and he highly recommended them. Very cool to get such feedback from a dealership.

If nothing else, I love the telemetry you can get through your phone/car play with the JB4 solution. Cool stuff!

Anby idea when JB4 solution will be shipping by chance?

May want to double check that assumption that Toyota can't see that it was ever tuned. According to my Dealership Service Manager, he said Toyota has gotten pretty slick about how they track this. The ECU tracks each time it has been updated. If it has been updated and does not show up within Toyota records that they performed the update, then they know an unauthorized source performed it. He was certain Toyota has that base covered effectively, which differs from past Gens he said.
