I took my 24 TRD OR into the dealer for my free "5000 mile service", which basically consists of tire rotation and vehicle inspection. This is my first Toyota so I don't know if I'm just ignorant or being gas lighted. So, I have a couple questions about my experience.

When they were done over 2 hours later, I asked the service advisor to sign and date the maintenance book to show the maintenance was done. He looked at me like I had two heads and said they don't do that, "the record is in the national database". Soooooo, I guess if I ever sell the truck privately I can tell the potential buyer to check the national data base........

Also, they did not reset the tire pressure monitoring system. At lease the box was not checked indicating it was done. Is there a way the truck resets itself? I come from driving Fords and they always had to be reset because they were specific to the location of the tire. Toyota might be different so I'm asking.

They hand wrote that the tire pressure was set to "the factory recommended 36 psi". The door frame says it should be 30 psi and I've always been told to adhere to that. I would assume that the factory puts that sticker on there and thus that is there recommendation.....

Thoughts?

Im in the same boat Franklewtie. Ima watch this thread because i'm fixin to bring mine in for the same service soon...Although mine has had a tire pressure monitoring issue for awhile...

I just took mine in at 3000K and said I want the oil changed.

My 2007 had over 300,000 mostly trouble free miles till it met its end on a deer at 75mph and I was a nut about oil changed.
I probably up the interval on the 2024 to 5000K between changes. It's just cheap tactic to keep issues away. I don't think having fresh oil ever caused any problems.
