Did Anyone Get Their Tacoma to 10k Miles Before Getting Their First Oil Change?

One thing I promised myself when I got my Tacoma was, I'd never rely on warranty for an oilchange. I'm aware there's a schedule that Toyota gives us for the extended warranty on our truck.

"(8 000 = Inspection, 16 000 = Oil Change, 24 000 = Inspection, 32 000 = Oil Change, 40 000 = Inspection, 48 000 = Oil Change)"

For me, I had my first oil change at 1000 miles and I plan on doing it every 5000 miles. The service people told me I didn’t qualify for their warranty oil change until 10k miles. I said I didn’t care and I’d pay for it.

Can't really wait that long to take care of my vehicle especially given it's something I can easily afford. Is there anyone who had to wait for 10k miles on their truck before their first oilchange?

I actually went to my 2nd service for the 1st oil change at exactly 10,000 miles.

Not bad but I will pay for the oil service at my next service at 15,000 mile mark.

I just know that waiting 10,000 miles is too much time. I’ll be sticking to 5,000 miles like my 2nd gen.

After my 2 year toyota care. I’ll be doing it myself as always.

Great plan. It's 5000 miles isn't a bad time for an oilchange. Same thing I plan on doing too

My dealership told me not to change my oil until 10K im not 100% why they do it that way but it is definitely annoying. I bought a camry brand new in 2021 and from the start I got free oil changes every 5K miles.

If you have a new truck, I would recommend doing the first one at ~1500 miles. I did mine at 2500. Then every 5k, forever. I'll never wait the 10k, I think that's a wild interval.
