So I've been wanting to buy the method 703s in bronze but i was talking to a buddy the other day and he said it could be cheaper to maybe just powder coat the stock wheels the color i want. I was wondering if anyone has seen this being done and if so what their experience was? Hard to go wrong with Method 703s but i don't mind the look of the stock wheels on the Off Road just the color has more to be desired.

PS. I have a 20% discount code right now to method's website so that definitely helps with the price of these

Personally, I would just upgrade the wheels - especially with the discount. Unless the budget is super tight. Factory wheels aren't very wide, which makes them not ideal for adding larger tires. Sure, it can be done, but a wider wheel is better. The methods also have better bead retention when airing down and will make for a more aggressive look. My guess is that powder would cost only a few hundred less than a new set of wheels. But once you get the new wheels (are you also getting tires?), you can sell the old set and make up the difference. I sold my stock OR wheels and tires for $1200. New wheels are my vote.
