I just purchased a set of Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport ditch lights for my TRD Off-road Hybrid. My truck has the factory switches. Has anyone installed these lights using the factory switches? Any tips?

Not these lights, but other lights. It's a simple deal using the provided pigtail. You will have three positive wires, and a ground. Aux1 is 15A, Aux2 is 10A, Aux3 is 5A. I believe the documentation that came with the pigtail will give you the wire colors for each (I don't remember off my head). What is the total load on the lights in Amps? Start there. Do not exceed the amps on the Aux circuit. If necessary, install a relay powered, and fused, off the battery.

The SS3 Sports draw about 3 total amps for both lights combined with their backlight. Based on that, I think I should be able to plug them into the 5 amp aux switch.

Hi John, I recently installed the SS3's on my 2025 TRD Off Road with no prior experience with wiring. I have mine set up on the factory switches with the backlight wired to AUX 2 and the main beam on AUX 3. This way you don't have to double click for the main beam to turn on. Install is super stream line. Under the hood of your Tacoma on the driver side, there is a port that you connect to directly. I found youtube videos on the set up which helped me with my install. I can send you photos of how I did it if that would help?

Thanks! Did you need to hook the lights up to the battery? I would greatly appreciate the pictures! Thanks for your response.
