If you’ve been following my last few posts you know I’ve been running the ARB OME MT64 kit and have been super happy with it. Most of my focus has been on highlighting the shocks so I wanted to do a separate post highlighting the UCA’s and the Rear Springs that I’ve paired with the shocks. The beauty of the MT64 kit as well as ARB’s suspension lineup is you can buy the individual pieces of the kit ie. shocks, UCA’s, springs depending on what your need may be.

Upper Control Arms or UCA’s are a must buy when lifting your truck. The moment you raise the vehicle from 1-3” and beyond you’re changing the suspension geometry and the stock UCAs just don’t quite have the adjustment needed to make it work within reason.

UCA’s: Click Here

Adjustability: ARB OME UCA’s (thats a mouth full) provide all the adjustability needed when lifting your truck like fixing the caster + camber, and helping the alignment get within tolerances. With adjustable caster you can move the wheel hub forward and backwards of the axle center which can help alleviate rubbing or fitment issues you may have with running larger tires.

Serviceability: UCA’s just like every moving part on a car will have wear and tear overtime so being able to service the components is huge. The OME UCA’s have grease fittings both on the ball joint and bushings + dust covers to prevent total exposure to the elements.

I’ve had no issues with these UCA’s and think they’re a great option for control arms even if you’re not running ARB suspension as they’re universal!

Rear Springs:

Oh boy one of my favorite 4G features is no more leaf springs (YESSSSS). 4G running rear coil springs is awesome (at least I think so) and just like all previous Tacoma models upgrading your rear spring setup is a must. I went the longest while on my last truck without upgrading and noticed a massive change in comfort and longevity…so don’t be like me and upgrade your springs.

ARB offers a standard and medium rated coil spring.
- Standard 0 - 400lbs
- Medium 400 - 800lbs

Light accessories/bumper with minimal or no towing and no bed topper is ideal under the standard rate spring. Any sort of topper, loaded rack or consistent towing then the medium rate is the way to go. I went with standard and have no complaints. However I’ve got absolutely zero, zip, nada weight in my bed so I notice it’s stiffer a hoppier when hitting bumps at high speeds. I’ve towed with the standard rate springs and no issues with that, the truck felt great!
