Hi there, I was wondering how long this truck can sit, without being driven? Looking to see if any one had experience with this.

Bump. Also curious... I feel like it would be longer than a non-hybrid? Does the hybrid battery have anything to do with starting the vehicle?

It's my understanding the Generator/Hybrid motor is used to start the engine, while the hybrid system is charged & "Ready". However, I might be wrong, but i believe the 12V battery is there in event the hybrid system is not "Ready" and the engine would need to start via it's conventional starter.

Please correct me if I am wrong, as I don't remember where I read that.

Interesting. I'll have to ask the dealer when I go to pick mine up.

Were you the one that was talking about what happens when you disconnect the battery? How it needed to be reset a certain way to start potentially?

No, more concerned with if battery dies... but I believe there is a jump point in the passenger side fuse panel under the hood, for it that happens... of which I believe you can use any 12v jump pack or jumper cables to another vehicle.

Gotcha. I'll have to dig deeper!

I can confirm the truck can sit for at least 18-days (unlocked) without issue/warning and starts up fine...

My wife’s RAV4 hybrid sat for 6 weeks and started fine. We planned it and made sure the hybrid battery was at 80%, when we got back it was about 30%.

Considering the size of the hybrid battery, I would be shocked if it didn't last much, much longer than a traditional starter battery without being started.

Agreed, was curious and I was only able to test for 18days on account of traveling.
