What PSI are you running in your stock tires?

I need some input. What PSI are you running in your stock tires? I ask because the door frame sticker on my truck says 32psi but every time I go to the dealer for service they put 36 psi in. I get a different answer as to why when I ask the service writer. The latest is that they know Toyota says 32 but they recommend 36.

Why would they recommend going against the manufacture recommendation? Am I missing something?

Does the service manual with the truck say anything about tire pressure. I would think it would. Usually any service related items or things like that I usually go with what the book says.

I'll look. I was always told to go with what's on the sticker on the door jamb.

Totally agree, that's what I do as well. I bet they are the same.

30. stock trailhunter. its what is on the door and factory knows better than the dealer.

My understanding of why the dealer does this is for an average number for all Toyota vehicles. If you have other Toyota vehicles you will notice that they pump up the tires to the same pressure from the dealer. This just gives the technician at Toyota a average instead of knowing/ looking at the door sticker for every vehicle. There response to this is that recommend but never giving me a straight answer on why. Higher psi can lead to uneven wear on your tires and require you to replace your tire sooner because of it. Go with the door sticker this will leave you with even wear and a longer lasting tire.

I was running like 35... didn't seem too firm. But only time and tire wear would have told. Got new tires after like 1500 miles. 30 just sounds so low!
