FYI, new recall for Select 2025 Tacoma models
https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-recalls-certain-my2025-toyota-tacoma-models/
The issue involves the front driveshaft joints, which may have been manufactured with incorrect materials. This defect can cause the joints to deform or break while driving.
If this happens, drivers may lose the ability to turn the vehicle as intended. On full-time 4-wheel-drive Tacomas, a broken part could also cause the truck to roll away—even when the transmission is in PARK—if the parking brake is not engaged.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not yet released official details due to the current government shutdown. In the meantime, Toyota has outlined its dealer response.
Dealers will inspect the serial numbers on the front driveshaft assemblies and replace one or both assemblies if needed. Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed by the end of November 2025.
