I didn't feel comfortable removing the air dam because of the unfinished look around the felt wheel well insert.

So... I trimmed 2 inches off the bottom...

Much better.

I just took mine off and added a steel plate. painted it black and drilled two holes and mounted it. They want too much for those TRD covers. Added these lights to the black cover area too. They have sequential yellow blinkers built in.

Looks pretty clean. I just ripped mine off, lol. I hate that thing, it just spoils the clean look of the front end. You can still bolt the felt liner in when you remove it, it just sticks out a little. But so minor that the finished look is my preference. But to each their own!

Looks like a clean cut. What did you use?

Where did you source those lights?
I got them from Amazon, the ones I got were not the cheapest but had a fuse box connector set and harness looked better.

They are working great and get a lot of complements on them. Have already help two other folks install theirs.

You tube has some good install videos, I found it easier to just cut the cover off with my dremel and the lights just snap in.

I would just remove it!

It would be interesting to see someone make a comparison with it on and with it removed to see if the MPGs are affected since that's what its claimed function is.

Lol, took off when pulled in driveway, lol. Im actually thinking of making external mudflaps for my quads lol
