- 2025 DCSB TRD Offroad Underground
After some serious back and forth if getting rid of my 3G TRD Offroad was a good idea I finally did it. Rather it was one of the hardest things to part ways with my 3rd Gen being I've owned it for 6 years, first new vehicle I bought and all the blood sweat and tears that were put into it. Oh and I can't forget all the unbelievable memories...BUT it was time for a change and I think this change was really good.
This truck is exactly how I would've specced it out from the factory, it's got everything from the iforce max motor to the premium package that gives you softex leather and cooled seats, digital backup camera, the whole nine yards. One thing over time I didn't like about the 3G that was made up in the 4G is all the creature comforts as mentioned above. It's the little things that really make the difference for me and makes the driving experience more pleasurable.
The biggest pro and really the reason I decided to get a 4G was the hybrid power plant and the transmission. Living in a mountain town and state with the constant mountain pass crossings the 3G struggled like crazy making it up the grades. It would gear hunt, red line and either overspeed or under spend and honestly it was getting kind of exhausting driving it. Don't get me the wrong the 3G is fantastic but for what I'm driving on a routine basis the 4G's new improvements really sold it for me. For example going up the mountain pass it held 75mph at 2k rpm and didn't shift or hunt the entire time it was so effortless. I had a lot of skepticism with all the keyboard warriors out there dogging on it but let me say if you're having doubts go drive one I'm confident in it making a good impression. Regardless I'm super happy with the improvements and can't wait to get the build started.
I'm super stoked on the Underground color and it's grown on me quite a bit. I think what excites me is the ability to do any color accents and it'll look good, but for starters machined wheels! I hope to routinely update and post on here about my ownership as well as comparisons to the 3G to help folks with an unbiased opinion. Till then stay tuned on the gram @drktacoma for the most up to date mods as things are going to get started here quickly.
