This install was long overdue but FINALLY installed my sPOD BantamX control system, and honestly — super simple overall and I should've done it way sooner. I swung by Baja Designs to pick up the kit, along with their new mounting plate for the switch module that’s made specifically to pop right into the OEM dash on the 2024+ Tacoma. They were kind enough to run the connecting cable through the firewall for me (shoutout to them — apparently that’s the trickiest part of the whole process!).
Once that was done, the rest was done in less than an hour. I popped out a few of the plastic panels to the left of the driver’s dashboard, and although you do have to cut a small hole behind the trim to plug in the switch module, it’s all completely hidden — super clean.
As for the BantamX unit, it mounts right over the ABS pump using the factory bolts. The bracket is designed to just slip over and lock in — no extra hardware or drilling required.
What I really love is the custom pre-mounted switch panel they created for the 4th gens — it looks super OEM and blends in perfectly. Honestly, finding a good mounting spot for the switch panel was what held me up on installing this sooner, but this new setup makes it a no-brainer.
Now all that’s left is getting the rest of my lights wired in — can't wait! What system are you guys running for your light set up?? Curious to know!
**Baja Designs also provides some good install instructions for this that includes more pictures for those that want to see the steps--Ill include screenshots below or they can be found on their website!**
