I’ve been hearing about some 4th Gen Tacomas “chirping” with the AC or Heat/fan on. (We all know the ac compressor etc cycles constantly which is “normal").
Some chirp a couple/few times just at start up, some chirp constantly. It’s apparently the AC compressor and magnetic clutch possibly going bad.
The other day, I saw another 4th Gen SR5 Tacoma in my gyms parking lot. I was gonna talk to the guy but he got in his truck before I could. When he started his truck I sure heard the chirp at start up. It would drive me nuts.
This is becoming a thing for sure and dealerships know about it. My guess is Toyota will come out with a TSB or at least they should. I’m starting to think it’s not if it will happen but when. Sorry to be a buzzkill but there it is.
