Full Size Spare To Replace Factory Donut?

Curious question, has anyone tried fitting a full size spare in replacement of the donut?

I have a TRD Sport with street tires and the spare is a full size tire, but it is a temporary tire. My truck came with 265/65/18 tires but the temp tire is on a steel 17” rim and the size is 245/75/17 which is supposedly the same diameter as the 265/65/18. My local Michelin dealer was able to find a BF Goodrich Trail Terrain TA 245/75/17 tire to fit the steel rim. And it does fit just fine. I know it is a trail tire but I rather a real trail tire than a temp street tire in the event of an emergency.
