Noticed something yesterday with my truck. I got a parking brake malfunction pop-up on my dash. It appeared after I accidentally bumped the parking brake hold button on my center console while reaching for my phone. Couldn't turn it off, so I drove it like that to the mall.

When I got to the mall, I went inside to get something and spent a few minutes inside. When I got back to my truck, to my surprise, the error had disappeared. I feel maybe it was because I shut the truck off and started it up again; that was what cleared the warning.

I was aware of a certain period when Toyota issued a rear brake line recall. Don't know if it's a serious issue that would require me to go to a service center. Would observe it for a couple of days to see how it goes and drop on an update on the forum if there's any.

I have the recall for the rear brake lines on my truck. Apparently Toyota must not think it is serious because they haven't come up with a "fix" for it yet according to my dealer and it has been like 10 months.........

Wow, never had mine recalled. 10 months is a pretty long time to be waiting on a fix. I'm just curious tho, how has it been like driving around knowing you still have a brake issue?

Ironically I brought the truck in yesterday for my final free service at 25K and they had the fix so they replaced the brake lines. I didn't mind driving it while under recall since the issue concerned a possible lack of brake performance if there is an accumulation of dirt/mud build up. I don't do any purposeful off roading so I didn't anticipate any build up. Never the less, I'm glad it was finally addressed with a fix.

That's great to hear. It's a great truck and I don't think fix for issues like this are supposed to be delayed. Glad at least your brake lines have been fixed. Has that been the only major issue you've had with your Tacoma?

The radio volume/off-on knob broke but no other issues. I replaced knob with an aftermarket version.
