This is a thread to see what sized tires everyone is running on their new Tacomas and what was needed to allow them to fit properly. You can also include your wheel setup as well in case it is needed to help dial in the perfect set up for those looking to upgrade their trucks. Also if you can include how the setup has affected the performance of your truck.

For me, I went with 285/75R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Load Range C. The wheels are RRW RS2-H 17x8 +12 offset. In total about 90lbs per tire. I added a Westcott Pre Collar kit to my truck to help clear. I took out the crash supports but I left the mudflaps on. There is very very minimal rub at full lock in reverse. The truck drives as if it was stock. No real delay or hiccups. The only thing I’ve really noticed is the decrease in MPG by about 5. I’m hanging out at 17 ish when you calculate for the increased tire size. IMG_9045.jpegIMG_7440.jpeg

Hey Jon, deciding between 33 or 34.
Any benefits you see of one vs the other? Outside of the half inch added clearance? Is your wheel offset same as factory?

New to the forum. Also looking at these tires. Any thoughts on whether the load range C is worth it vs SL? I do enjoy the occasional off-roading session but not sure whether I want the added weight since it's my daily driver. I recently went out to Coyote Canyon in Tularosa, NM and the stock BF Goodrich tires were just fine. Any additional thoughts on this?

i just got new wheels and tires on my sr5, 17x8.5 with 0 offset, for tires i went with 265/70-17. 115t Toyo open country a/t 3's. i went with this size mostly due to trying to get the most mpg's and dont do much offroading. i live in s. jersey so most trails are just sand.

Have a SR5 and it's leased so want to keep it simple (and inexpensive), so I went with Falken WP AT4Ws on stock rims. Did jump up to 265/70/17 though.

Running Toyo AT3 35x12.5x18 on OEM Trailhunter wheels.

We just wrapped up this Tacoma here in the shop this week.

285/70R17 and they fit without problems, no trimming, no removal of factory plastics, the clear at full lock reverse, and dropping off curbs. Really nice to see the new Tacoma clearing larger tires without trimming. The 33" tire has always been the go-to on the Tacoma. Glad that Toyota finally caught up with what the consumer has wanted all along.

That looks super tough!

I'm going to take delivery of my 4G soon. The plan is to start with a 0 offset wheel on some 33x12.5x17s. Ultimate goal being some 37s.
