Hello, thanks for the link Pappy! I just posted a question to HelivueDesign about warranty being voided and would it interfere with
SumoSprings. I have a 2025 SR5 4x4 5ft bed w/towing package. Also not sure about emissions and EVAP stuff too? I really am having severe range anxiety; I can only get 200mi range max when hauling my 20' 4000lb travel trailer going 60MPH on interstate. Plus, the fuel tank seems really picky about being "topped off" fast; many gas dispensers cannot flow slowly to allow air to escape. I've been able to get about 1.4gal max extra after cutoff at some older pumps (I only do this if I know I'll be using the gas within 30 minutes).
On a related topic, I don't know how to reset the range for better accuracy as the averaging algorithm really stinks! If I am hauling, it seems to not compensate for recent changes to immediate fuel usage (i.e., not hauling vs hauling) which causes the range calculation to vary wildly. Perhaps I'd like a more direct approach; tell me the gas volume in the tank, and show me the current MPG and I can figure out the range myself. For example, if I had done the range estimate, I would have something like range = Gallons*((MPG@20mi ago + 2*MPG@5 miles ago + 7*MPG@1 mile ago)/10) that way it's more heavily weighted towards near-term MPG not long-term MPG. Based on observation, it seems it just takes the MPG averaged over the last say 300 miles and multiplied by fuel in tank to get the range. If someone knows for sure, I would love to know how to better estimate the mileage left. I know you can reset the average MPG but it doesn't seem related to the range.
Thanks!
